Guest artists:  The Salvation Army Chicago Staff Band

Join us for a musical feast as the Chorale celebrates in song life’s priceless gifts, such as true love, quiet beauty, joy and laughter.  Our concert also features the renowned Salvation Army Chicago Staff Band under the direction of Dr. William Himes.  It is the Salvation Army’s principal concert band of the Midwest, as well as an internationally acclaimed band, privileged to have played for Queen Elizabeth II.  You’ll be lifted up by Copland’s The Promise of Living and Himes’ A Lincoln Reflection, commissioned for the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.  Don’t miss this inspired collaboration of fine instrumentalists and the seasoned voices of the White Heron Chorale.  The concert also features our High School Master Singers and some rousing audience sing-alongs.

Our most popular concert of the year is a treasury of best-loved carols and favorite songs of the season.  This beautiful concert, which includes audience sing-alongs, has been a local tradition for more than 30 years.  Both performances will feature the Hands of Christ Deaf Ministry Choir, under the direction of Kalyn Olson, presenting sign-alongs with percussion accompaniment.  You’ll also enjoy the joyous and jubilant accompaniment of our guest organist, Marilyn Freeman.  Good seats go fast, so order your tickets early for this festive event.

Think spring—think Irish green!  Prepare yourself for a high-energy concert with special guest artists, áthas, an Irish band featuring a fierce fiddle, energetic flute, driving bodhrán, and funky guitar.  They’re sure to make you want to jig in the aisles.  Our 2007 Irish concert was one of our most loved by our loyal audience.  So by popular demand, we’ve decided to do another one featuring more music and songs of the Celtic Isles.  Whether lilting or lively, you’ll be transfixed by the beauty and simplicity of these heartfelt melodies.  As always, we’ll have sing-alongs so you can join the fun.
